The new programme of the MADS (Modernism Aestheticism Decadence Studies) reading group for the Winter Term 2024/25 has just been announced:
- 2 Oct 2024: A Decadent Retelling of an Ancient Play: A. Mary F. Robinson’s The Crowned Hippolytus
- 19 Nov 2024: Hugh MacDiarmid, A Drunk Man Looks at the Thistle
- 10 Dec 2024: Boris Pilnyak
- 15 Jan 2025: The Decadence of Countee Cullen’s Copper Sun
- 10 Feb 2025: Walter Pater
All meetings take place online, via zoom, from 7-8 pm Berlin Time. Readings are shared in advance through our mailing list. Each meeting starts with a brief, informal introduction to the text/s before the session is opened up for general discussion.
